In order to inform our California customers, we are adding a label to our Flackers Crackers with the following Proposition 65 warning.
WARNING: Consuming this product can expose you to chemicals including cadmium, which is known to the State of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. For more information go to www.p65warnings.ca.gov/food.
Proposition 65 is a California-specific right-to-know law, not a food safety law, and we do not believe there have ever been unsafe levels of Cadmium in our products.
Cadmium, as with many heavy metals, occurs naturally in soil and can be taken up by plants as they grow and absorb nutrients and water. Levels of heavy metals can fluctuate by soil type, region and weather conditions during the growing season. We are constantly working with our raw material suppliers to ensure that we are sourcing the cleanest ingredients possible.
